210g stand / bar top

i recently started building a stand for my 210. its basically an island setup but with a slight twist. it also serves as a bar top. right now i just have the basic structure. i will add the nice skirt once i have the money for it. im thinking of staining it a coffee color. here are a few pics.

thanks. my plan is to divide my dinning room and front room with it. it will be viewable from both sides after i remove the dual overflow boxes.

I didn't get what you were going for at first, but now that I saw the pics I think it is awesome. Is that a 7' 210g or 6'? I think you should keep the corner overflows. they do stick out a bit but not as much as hoses for a canister would (if you went that route.) Which I guess brings up a good question, what are your plans for filtration for this monster? Keep updating this as you go along if you can. I want to see how it turns out.

From an engineering standpoint, it appears that you are creating cantilever beams using 2 x 4 and joist hangers. I don't recommend this if you are going to put much weight on the bar. Your bar might also start to sag over time.

yea i thought about that and was considering just adding support beam on the ends. i just dont like the idea of having the beams because they will look like legs. any suggestions?

im doing a 75g wet/dry. the overflow box will be on the end thats up against the wall. its a 6footer
