  • Moving Bed Bio-Film Reactor

Has anyone tried to use one of these MBBR's yet?? I just bought 50 liters of the bio media and plan to stick it in my sump. Using lots of bubbles to move the stuff around, I'm hoping to dominate all fish waste with this bad boy. I have two inlets to my sump filter from my corner overflows on my 215g that run through sock filters before entering the sump section where the water will flow through the MBBR and overflow through a filter pad and then over a small layer of scrubbies. I will take pics when I get a chance. The bio media is called Kaldnes. Look it up

Should be interesting to see how your water parameters pan out once the filter is established. Nice job!

Very cool... almost like a large-particle fluidized bed filter.
