Building a tank vs Buying a tank

Hello Houston Fish Box,
I was thinking about donating a 75 G or a 100 G fish tank to a nursing home.I was going to build it at first,but shopping around for prices has me thinking it would be cheaper to buy.I do have a couple of questions and all answers are welcomed. Is the thickness of the glass not dependent on the height ?would 1/4 inch become for a height of 21 incs?also is it cheaper to buy rather than to build a tank?What are some cheap glass places i can buy glass at?

at that size its not worth the hassle or the cost of building it yourself . plus if I was donating it I would want the piece of mind knowing it will not possibly fall apart on the recipient one day.

The cost of proper thickness glass and the hassle it would be cheaper to buy.

Thank you all I brought a 100g for $257 just a few hours ago. The same price or a little more it would have cost to build the 75g.
