DIY wet/dry

Well since I have to fit my skimmer and reactor into my wet dry and PETCO started the dollar per gallon sale, I'm gonna turn a 55g into my wet/dry. Probably go today to get the tank and my glass cutters are closed so I'm gonna have to wait on that.

Here's a rough idea of what I'm gonna try and accomplish. The first section with have some type of filter sock holder, as I prefer filter sock to the blue filter pad. So the water will flow into the first section thru a filter sock over flow onto the drip tray thru the Bio balls then a set of baffles with a foam block. Then overflow into the skimmer section and then into the return section. I'm wondering if I should put a bubble trap between the skimmer and return section. If its not needed then it would be easier to not have one.
