  • Pleco cave for my monster bristlenose

So trying to find someone to make me a cave big enough for my giant female bristlenose was not really cost effective since I only needed one and I wanted to try and make one.

Most items were found laying around the house but to buy it all would be but few dollars.

    Terracotta pot cut in half
    small sheet of acrylic
    Krylon fushion

I did the acrylic bottom so if she does lay eggs I can just flip it and peep inside.

      Not yet.

Still looking though, have started looking online as well to see if anyone has one or any place selling large males.

I think I have 2 big males in one of my tanks, I'll throw a couple of pleco food and see if they are there.

I have two smaller brown males I will trade for the biggest male you have, or I could offer to buy it.

Here's the two males I have, they are in a NLS bucket for size reference.

Had to try and catch a fish out of my tank for my brother and figured while I'm at it I'll trash the tank and snatch these two out.

Thats a nice cave you fabed up there. Did you use a tile saw or something else to cut the pot? I don't know if you would like the look of it, but using jars as caves I've attached a layer of the substrate onto them using silicone. Usually came out half decent.

I used a dremel to split the pot and with the way the lighting and background is on my tank, having the cave painted black would allow for it to blend into the background and be unnoticeable.
