it is pretty innovative but one thing I don't understand some of the water that goes out to his sink to his garden is being filtered through his wet dry instead he should have the dirty water go straight out instead of being filtered

I guess it would be over flow from the excess water being put in ? I wanna do it but I don't wanna drill my tank or anything...

Don't think it would be much different if you are doing frequent water changes already.
