I recently found out that adding a bonded blue filter pad along with two layers of white filter floss pads helped my Eheims catch fine particles very well. Now I'm considering replacing all three with one 2" layer of 20ppi Poret foam which I can clean and reuse many more times than the bonded blue pad and also not have to use white filter floss pad. It is a matter of cost savings because I'll be servicing 6x canisters in all.
Do you think one 2" 20ppi Poret foam layer will do as good a job as one layer of bonded blue filter pad and two layers of white filter floss pads?
