  • Building a wet dry or sump tank

I have a 135 gallon tank, and I'm using a 26 gallon underneath it for the over flow and the filter. I'm going to make my own wet dry and place it in my 26 gallon, with two aqueon 2500 return pumps( 486 GPH each). This is my first one. Any advise or diagrams are highly appreciated! Even products to buy from home depot will help too. Have a blessed day.

Are you talking about that bow front tank if so I'd suggest getting a standard tank to make a wet/dry out of I've seen somewhere someone on the box has them made out of Rubbermaid tubs that was real cool

I wouldn't use a bowfront as a sump. They have a reputation of leaking, and the way I throw my sump around at times, with little care, I wouldn't advise using a bow. Up to you and Im not the most careful person. You could always trade that bowfront for a larger standard rectangular tank easy.

I wouldn't use a bow front either. It makes it harder to make a wet dry. If I were you, I'd go buy a Rubbermaid tub (the rectangular ones) and the plastic storage drawers. It's cheap and gets the job done. I'm planning on making one as well in the future when I upgrade my tank.
