  • DIY sponge filter?

I'm setting up a 10g quarantine tank for 4 upside down cats and a baby dwarf giraffe cat while I treat my cichlids with clout. I have an air stone and heater in the 10g but no established filter. Can I just stick my cylinder pre filter into the 10g with the air stone inside it as a make shift sponge filter? Or would it be better to just change a gallon of the water each day for the next week?

Doing both probably wouldn't hurt. Try exchanging more than 1 gallon too.

Although making a DIY sponge filter is really easy and simple. Not only that, it would do much more than an airstone and water changes.

for the time the little fishies will be in the tank. Use the sponge and air stone but change 50% of the water daily.
