How thick a glass are we talkin with 45 gallons ?

5/16" - 3/8" is a good range to start with. Any more than that and you'd be paying some good $$

err on the side of 3/8" / 10mm glass if you are going with a more narrow and long design to combat flexing. a more cube shape would be fine with 5/16" / 8mm glass.
