        couldn't agree with you more. this is all too often overlooked by aquarists, and all too often very appreciated by the fish.
        my fish house:
        2.5g- ramshorn hatchery
        6g eclipse- yellow shrimp, chili rasboras, yellow apple snails
        29g- geo grow-out, angels, 12"fire eel, dwarf frog, apple snails
        45g- jade sleeper gobies, native killifish, feeder endlers

        75g-
        2 oscars, parrot, silver dollars, albino channel cat, syno euptera, bichir, baby jaguar, convicts, yabby
        125g- fahaka puffer, rainbow shark
        and about a dozen bettas....

                    Thanks! I've been looking for a lowcost, yet effective lighting option. This it it! I like the plug & play aspect of this, easily able to add or subtract units.

                    Removing the Lenses helped your light spread better. What angle were they sold as originally? Just curious.

                              i would expect even more spread then that with the optics off, hmmm. looks great though. do the HS seem to be working well enough? you normally spread thermal grease in between a heat sink and the source in order to get the best thermal transfer

                                I think the listed 60 degree beam angle is without the optics. With optics, it's almost a perfect parallel beam
