This and a little bit of guts to try it out first. Nothing too extreme with this though. They also make led tubes if anyone wanna try the tubes.

Just ordered my bulbs, I will pick up the connectors on Wednesday from Lowes. My wife thinks that this is great because she is financing this tank as a Xmas present. So far so good. Just have to fine a PfS supplier. We will see what comes of it tomorrow.

People also use blasting sand if you like the darker sand.

Blasting sand is of the devil himself. That stuff goes everywhere, especially in tanks with heavy flow

Yea blasting sand sucks its never really settle and your surface agitation needs to be still not like most troph/petro tanks it will go everywhere. Trust me i had it in my tank because i thought it look nice but i hated it and so did my canisters

I checked the local Leslie's pools and they did not carry it. Emailed US silica and they suggested one of there suppliers in NJ. It is only about 15 miles from my place so I am heading over there tomorrow.

That is what I have in my 90g Troph tank. I don't really like it. I am looking for a larger grain then that. No to mention that th color is pretty bland. I added some white Auqa Terra but I dont like that either.

This is another problem, constant debris in the water do to the high current that the circulation pump generates.

Ha Ha...beat me to it, Ive been looking up these PAR led's the past couple of days. Thinking of switching out my 3X35watt HID kits for a few of these LED bulbs....still debating though. Each one of my bulbs is 35Watts and drawing less that 3 amps and around 3200 lumens....

Yas lights look nice, not complicated either. Something happens just buy another light fixture...sweet

Lights are in. The canopy had to be modified to support the lights but we got that done. It is great the way the lights shimmer. Because my brother my brother in law said that it was the most awesome thing he has ever seen. One of the bulbs had to be sent back because it did not work. I emailed the company and they said send it back and they would replace it. It is on its way back. Should be here in a couple of days.
