Silicon a piece of glass or acrylic if you don't wanna use it. That would leave me sleeping better at night than a capped off bulkhead IMO. If you plan on using it just simply remove the silicon and the pice you use to cover the hole.

      How to cap pre-drilled holes

I would be safe and buy new bulkheads and put a cap on it.

Either buy online or go to a marine (boat) store.

Two holes in the middle of my 260g I didn't need. I bought bulkheads from City Pets and caps from HD. Only way I would go. Silicone for extra insurance. Almost 3 years since.

So I took the rubber stoppers out and put pvc plugs in and silconed the hell out of it.
