This is only good for smaller tanks (under 12" in depth). For larger tanks (24" in depth), I would recommend doubling the length of the 3/4" pipe and adding two carbon replacement cartridges. Only reason why I recommend it is because when you put the filter onto the tank, it will hang lop sided. You want the cartridge to be horizontal. Using two will allow the cap to sit on the other side of the tank keeping the filter horizontal. There's a few more things I need to add to it, but I went to HD before work so I didn't have time to find the parts since the employees are insanely retarded at this HD. With the current write up and parts the filter will work just fine.

Decided to try it out last night. Works great! Just needs some more tweaks, but overall I'm satisfied. Snapped some pics of it running. Water reeked of chlorine before going through the filter and was sparkly clean with no smell after passing through. That goldfish seems to be liking it.
