75g tank stand

so I got my self the other day a 75g tank with out a stand, and I decided to build it instead of buying. so here are the pics of the build. I am near completion, and I may do a canopy.

I made 2 different styles of top/bottom


style one

style2, I think this on is more strong. So style 1 will be in the bottom.




I dont think it will ever break, I used different things to get them together.

adding sides and front with a double door.




i had originally wanted jsut one door so i have to go and get another pair on door hinches, i have the stain and it will be a Ebony Classic with is a classic black. and lets se how it turns out.

labor hours its been about 8hrs
material $ about $40-60

yeah, i cant complain. it it coming pretty good, im just scare about the stain. I hope it gets a cood color and detail or the good.

Stain is easy.

Just one pointer on the stain since you used pine. Make sure you use pre stain conditioner or the stain will blotch. Bit the prestain conditioner will solve the problem

And also isnt the best way to apply a stain still with a rag ? Painting is easier....imo.

One more thing I just noticed. What are you going to be placing this stand on i.e. carpet wood tile?

yep thats what they are. (hurricane clips) Use a white cotton rag to aply stain. With black you will want to use a conditioner or it will never get an even color but if you f it up. lite sand papper and some elbow greas will fix all...
If you want a high gloss finish use paint...

Thats what is looks like. Only problem is that they will touch tye floor but the OP isnt done might have something olaned for that that we don't know about

thank you i just notice i had replies on this thread. i didnt used it, but it did get the stain nicely. i will post pics later on.

it will be placed in tile.

i used a sponge brush for the stain.
