  • DIY pvc overflow

    Ok so I made my PVC overflow using 2' PVC now i need to lower the sound it makes. lol i feel like im sleeping by a toilet that never stops flushing. How would i make it quieter with out lowering the GPH?

    Probably need to see what you have before we would know what can be changed.

        Drill a hole in the (cap)top and run a tube down to where the water goes out the T. This will air assist the flow. That should help quiet it. What pump are you running?

          You could also raise the Tee behind the tank to reduce the distance water free falls inside the overflow.

                      To add onto the design. You can convert it to a continuous overflow by connecting an aqualifter pump to the place where he adds a check valve. Ditch the valve and have the aqualifter suck air/water continuously from that "u-tube". Not necessary as siphons can't break when done right, but it does add peace of mind
