    Re: Polishing Acrylic Tanks

I've never tried it, but they advertise a kit on TV for refinishing glasses.

Actually the solvent that you use to "glue" it together melts the material and then solidifies.... that should work on scratches.

I sugest you find some scrap to test.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Ok i know this is an old post, but i moved a few years back and my 100 got scratched. What i used was a drill with a buffer attachment and some rain x lens car cleaner. Yes ....i know it sound funny , but it worked like a charm! And to keep ur plastic tanks shinny and polished, use a cleaner called Brilliantize. Amazing stuff !

For thinner acrylice I would use a polishing pad/ball, low speed to keep from burning and a good polish like fitz or a really fine car polish.
