  • Carbon Filter

Just thought I'd share the carbon filters Mike Ramsey and I made this past weekend. Pretty simple stuff, just a 2" X 24" piece of PVC, a couple 90 elbows, a hose adapter, two screens, some purple primer/pvc cement and a little silicone. Total cost for the filter was only $30 and looks like it's gonna be about $40 for 5 lbs of catalytic carbon (if you know a cheap place to score some please let me know). Mine was made to hang on the side of the tank, and he made his with two hose adapters. Very cheap alternative to the expensive carbon filters

Yes, sorry for not updating. Got the carbon, tested, and works like a charm!
