I've just started to set up my newest project. My 10g AIO needs a filter still.
I've used a small 400 gph powerhead and a FIGI square waterbottle and Poly-Filter instead of a top and bottom screen. Screen is necessary to keep media from stopping pump in power interruptions.
I've measured bio ball bacteria media and Phos Guard between the filters of Poly Filter. I'll see if Phos Guard and bio media balls can share a space ok.
I'll post a pic once I install it and see that the tumble isn't too intense.
