I made a fish trap because the mesh on the commercial minnow traps is too big. I had a few voids ( 1/2 " X 1 " ), so I filled them with the first handy stuff; 30 year acrylic painters caulk. Cured it for two days and put the trap in a pond . After 36 hours the caulk dissolved ! I did not need and strength and only expected it to be wet 48 hours at a time - but it was mostly gone. How does it survive rain on the outside of a house ?

Whoa, sounds messy. Hate to state the obvious, but that caulk is definitely not meant to be submerged for long periods, which is much different than being rained on
