Does anyone know where exactly I would need to go to in order to gather my own THR? I have been told the "Hill Country" between Austin and San Antonio. If someone would divulge the secret location of this precious rock, I would be very grateful and willing to birng you back some as well!

'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Re: Texas Holey Rock
Thanks PhishPhreek and mycoolhoney, but I actually have already been to those websites. I don't particularly want to order any from a wholesaler (if I were going to buy THR, I would choose a local store to support). I have thought about making my own ceramic version, especially since I have access to a kiln. Does anybody have experience doing this? I would still prefer to go on an expedition to central Texas and scavenge for my own if anybody knows a good location...Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.

That would be holey grail, heheConsider my posts as general information based on personal experiences, and in most cases, far oversimplified. Actual mileage may vary. Don't try this at home. If symptoms persist, contact your physician.

I already tried a few but to no avail. I know that landscapers call it holey limestone. Do you know of a local rock yard that has it, delock?Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.

Re: Texas Holey Rock
I have a Aunt by marriage, whose brother owns land in the Burnet Area. Everytime he clears land for farming, tons of the holey rock appear.
If the Burnet area is not to far for you, I can try to arrange something, or even just go to the Burnett Area and start digging on the road side.
A MOST EXCELLENT idea would be to go to Lake Buchanan which is about 20 miles west of Burnett for the 4th of July weekend and get all the Holey Rock you can find.380G For Sale $3000 Acrylic tank & stand

Re: Texas Holey Rock
Lake Buchanan sounds like a great area. I'll check it out. If your aunt's brother needs or would ever like clearing land over a weekend, I can be free labor for the day. Is there rock just sitting around, or will I have to do some digging? Thanks geoff_tropheus. I'll bring some back for you if you want any.Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
