    Re: Texas Holey Rock

Thanks for your (and Tina's) generousity, Geoff.  It was a pleasure to meet you as well. We did not make it to River City Aquatics.  I'll be checking it out on my next trip to Austin in about a month. It seems as though they have a great selection based upon their website.

After some of our conversations... I'm loosely considering the possibility of a Tropheus tank.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

      Re: Texas Holey Rock

me and my significant other though we hit the motherload this weekend on holy rocks as well........

massive!!!!! holy rocks that were pearly white and not a square inch without a hole in it!!!! there were pieces that were at least 4-5ft long!! we thought the prices were marked on the rocks but it turned out to be the weight at $2.50 a lb. so the massive rocks we thought were $188 would have ended up being 188lbs. x $2.50= $470  :(

      nice dig yall.

By all means check out River City.  Be sure and ask, I think his name is Carlos, to show you the fish in the back.  Well, it's not exactly in the back, it across the driveway.  He's very enthusiastic about his fish.  I checked it out the other week while there visiting a friend and was very impressed.

It is kinda hard to tell... but that was one GIANT piece of limestone in the first picture... just for a little clarification.

yeah that piece was huge. anyway the other photos must not have looked too clear of he would have loaded them. one was of the huge pile of stone we got to look through and the other was of the big burn pit that was built out of holey rock, (well lined not built, dont want limestone too close to hot fire it can explode)

I sure wish I would have found this site a few weeks earlier. Are there any plains on going back to austin in the near future?
