There is a big HEB on 38th street that has several large pieces landscped in the paking lot. Aside from that, there is a bunch in Zilker Park. They kinda frown upon you taking it though.
 I asked.
Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
The laugh of the day!! Â Awesome response, my stomach hurts from laughing. That was way to good!!

wait till the auction, you can score rocks anywhere from $1 to $50, most go for around $5 to $10 for good size & nice looking rocks, there is a gentleman and his wife that brings super nice rocks to the auction. I got sereval of theirs in my tanks right now. Their rocks go for a little more $25-$45 each but they are high end of the spectrum, but well worth it in comparsion to what they weigh and what you pay. Still is alot cheaper than the store. I got one of theirs that is about 50+lbs and paid $45 for it, since you have obivously looked for some, you know that you can't find an average looking rock for less than 1.50 a lbs. I know it is hard to wait, but you will find some there, and you don't have to break open the piggy bank to get a couple.
I'm going to take a shot in the dark, but I think sooner is referring to HAS. Â
LHA is Sat. the 17th and HAS is Sun. the 18th. Â I plan to attend both, but will prolly be too broke after going to the LHA to buy anything at HAS....LOL.
Theres some holey rock for 17.5cents/lb on I-45, junction 68/69? (Southbound just before Louetta) i think the place is called I-45 Soil. The rock is still dirty, and i didnt really look through it for nice pieces. The guy who owns it claims he sells to several of the fish stores in houston.
Good call rocket, I did mean the HAS, sorry, I thought the other was a swap and not an auction. My bad. Scott's house is the LHA right? Isn't that in Feb? Or is it I just can't read? That wouldn't suprise me.
I think the same thing as ek, the rock yards on my side of town say it is holey rock, but it looks more like dented or pitted rock and not holey. I don't know bout y'all but if it is to be called holey rock I should be able see light through the holes in the rock, not a rock that looks like someone dropped it one too many times and a few pieces of the rock broke off, so it now called holey because a few chunks fell of the rock.
