    Re: diy trickle filter..

I was hoping he could bring a completed unit to the GHAC meeting.. where he can pull it a apart and show each part and what he did.
I dont know how he would feel about a ton of people showing up for a meeting at his place etc..
Right now I am not 100% sure where we are meeting for the next meeting, Roy and Heidi's place has been talked about and I believe Delock also offered up his place, but we all know that at 10pm he is going to the Gym and therefore it would end up being a short meeting at Delock's I dont know if this is going to be acceptable.    We will see :)

      Re: diy trickle filter..

Ok.. I purchased a 20g long.  I shopped around for the 3 drawer boxes and found plenty, but unfortunately they were all too wide for my sump.  Would have been too tall too.  I did manage to find a sterlite storage box, which has decent volume (approx 4g) and fits perfectly into the sump.  I cut out the bottom of the container and left a 1/4 inch lip, then cut out egg crate to fit into the bottom.  Made a drip tray out of plexiglass and mounted 2" below the top of the container.  I made another tray out of egg crate for a pre filter, but it ends up being about 1" under the lid.  I suspect that may be too close to the thru - fitting.  So - what if I just laid a filter pad directly onto my drip tray??

I'm going to post pics of all this as soon as I can.

I'm still aggravated about how little of a space I have... under a 135g tank!!  Fshfrk's wet / dry plan would have been really nice.
