Tank brace in the middle???

Just got a use tank with no middle brace.  Is it nessisary to have one? It has wooden trim on top and bottom for support. Dimension are 48L 13W 19H.

For that size tank I would suggest it have one....unless there is some sort of german brace I would not fill that tank with water......yes it will hold water but the question is how long.

One thing is how thick is the glass, and do you know if it was/is a reptile tank?

I personally look for tanks without center bracing.
