Re: Ouch!!!!Are you drilling my tank???
Go slow, drill a pilot hole first, keep the drill as straight as possible. There's probably some good info on You Tube ...research as many sites as it takes to get your confidence up and you should be fine.
Find a trash tank to practice on.....
Good Luck,

Just get a piece of glass and practice.....the better or more expensive the bit the better it will work.
THere are people here and on MARSHReef.com have some nice bits and do it for cheap...There are some LFS that will do it as well.700g Mini-Monster tank

talked to a guy who drills his own holes ( he works in the tool dept of either 1960 home depot, or the porter store. ) he said he buys a block of modeling clay from the art store ( MICHAELS) make a little ant hill to surround the place you want to drill , and fill it with water, then drill the hole. my advice is........the drill bit is expensive, and so is the new aquarium ( to replace the one you screwed up ) so just talk to someone else ( who can replace the tank if they crack it ) and pay them the 30-50 bucks a hole. save yourself the trouble

I'm probably late to the party, but this site really helped me out when i drilled my first tank.
They have lots of instructional (and not to mention just plain stupid and funny) videos and stuff.
Obviously they are also trying to sell you their stuff, but you can get the same stuff at your local big box hardware store.
