    SOULJAA - If you didn't have the plants, you'd probably have to do a lot more water changes. So, if that doesn't bother you, then it would probably be okay. But I'm thinking that the plants might also provide hiding places for the fry, and also little organisms for the guppies to nibble on.

        SOULJAA, I use floating plants with no substrate. It makes the bottom easy to clean. I like wisteria, water sprite or plastic indoors. Ancharis would probably work well. Hornwart is great outdoors. Real plants help with the water chemistry and plastic is great to throw on a piece of newspaper if you want to fish out the babies.

          guppies.  i have a 30 gallon i got like 10 guppies from my dads tank.  in 5 months i have like 50 gupppies.  they breed like rabbits

            i agree with homeless at livebearers go its guppies, as cichlids go its convicts. hard to say which is easier. because owners of one usually dont have the other.
