Neither. Either. Breed what your heart is into. You have to love the fish.

I would go cyps just b/c they are tang and I like tangs better than others. A decent size group would look nice too.

But it you got some really good show type peacock, I feel that. Those males are hard to beat.

Depends. I've ran into prices anywhere from $7 for juvies to $28 for mature wc.

10 Cyp Blue flash went for about $35 at the last GHAC auction....

What about the F.O.T.A.S. convention and auction? Will prices there be more expensive than usual or less expensive? Would there even be a large group of cyps available?

I have no idea... nobody knows. That is what is great about auctions. Sometimes 10 cyps sell for $35 and sometimes 4 kuhli loaches sell for $70. I gave you the name of the breeder in another thread so that you can contact him directly.

i voted peacocks. they cannot be beat in colors, and frankly they do the breeding themselves. also, if you end up with too many they are easier to sell off than blues, because blues you need someone really into tangs, peacocks everyone likes pretty much. just my 2 cents.

Depends on why you want to breed fish at all.......
I breed show bettas because I like the competition of the international shows.
A friend once told me that if I wanted to make money I needed to breed eather guppies or angelfish. There is money in volume.
So back to the question - WHY ?
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I don't know if that's true or not, but keep in mind that most people buy large numbers of cyps at one time as compared to peacocks. So you might need 5 buyers to sell 10 peacocks where you can sell 10 cyps to just 1 buyer.
