What Cichlids to breed 29 gallon?

I am setting up a 29 gallon tank. I an interested in breeding easy cichlids (african?) Any ideas for something that would not be very hard? I am new to cichlids and would appreciate any advice! Are yellow labs too big? Brichardi? Please help.

thats a little small. i would only get 3 africans all the same type. red zebra should work

You could do:

A colony of demasoni (Maybe with a yellow lab or two as well)
A colony of salousi
Brichardi
Convicts
Kribs
and there's many more :)

You could do a trio of most mbuna, such as:

Polits
Red zebra
Yellow labs
Cobalts
Cobue
Hongi
Etc etc etc

i say a small colony of shelldwellers, they breed pretty easilly, and for decor they only require sand and shells.

i have a pair of gold occellatus and i have to say they are one of the most entertaining little fish i have ever kept. and i have kept ALOT of different species.

they are constantly flaring and displaying, they are amazing little fish.

No polite for sure. Some of the Mbuna get to aggresive to breed in something that small.

I have my Yellow Belly Alberts breeding in a 29 gallon. Most Vics will breed in a 29Gall. Most Vics only get to be about 4"...5" at the very most. The Vics are very colorful here are some

Also you could do some shell dwellers. Some shell dwellers will breed in a 10G

Just a few of many.

I would not try to much Mbuna in a 29gallon b.c they tend to be more aggresive. If you breed Mbuna I would recomend 5-6 females or more for every male and atleast a 40 gallon breeder or more. I breed mine in 55 gallons.
