    Re: Breeding Co-Op?

My understanding is that some of the local mom & pop fish stores belong to a CO-OP so that they can get more purchasing power....... University Pets in Clear Lake was one before they closed.

If we could make contact with their buyer we might be able to move all our surplus stock.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I definitely think there's potential one way or another, even if it's something as simple as a database among board members.

Possibly.  It would be more than one person could hand to organize and it would have to be a core group of dependable people who would like to participate.

I was referencing your 'dependable' sentence.

I forget what day of the week it is most of the time.

The apartments i stay at could house A LOT of aquariums. And the electricity is included in the rent, so you could set the AC to 78 year round and have filters running on each tank without worry of the electricity bill going crazy.

Did I just hear someone volunteering to hold everyones fish that would be in the Co-op?

That's very generous, I could call you each day to let you know what day of the week it is....LOL

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Hmmm.. i dont know about that.

I was thinking more for someone like Scott, whos electric bill is so high. If you and scott and maybe 1 more person put all your breeding tanks in one apartment, youd save money, and could take turns feeding the fish/doing water changes etc..

...and if i had a key i could help myself to fish now and then.

The other tenants might suspect something fishy going on?

It probably wouldnt work out in the long run. Youd need the deposit money, and then the rent would be split several ways and if someone couldnt pay it would screw everyone. It would be too much aggro

The Co-ordinator would have to maintain a list of stock available from each individual on a weekly basis and arrange delivery/pickup and so forth.

We'd have to hit the stores one at a time to get them as customers...and to take the Co-op seriously.
