I have herd the term before but never a description of how it should be done.

Just squeeze them like a zit or is there a better way ?
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Actually, this is one of the things easier demonstrated than described, but I will try. You net the female, and gently force the bouth open with your finger tip, holding the lower jaw extended. While holding her on her side inside the net at the water line, ensuring that at least 1 gill and her mouth remain in the water, you gently apply and release pressure to the upper gill plate. This causes a sort of pumping action within the cavity and forces her to spit out the eggs and or fry. By holding her within the net, the fry or eggs fall safely into the net for easy relocation. Again, something easier done than said.
Consider my posts as general information based on personal experiences, and in most cases, far oversimplified. Actual mileage may vary. Don't try this at home. If symptoms persist, contact your physician.
