So I have a trio of helianthus in my 90 gallon display tank and apparently two have paired off and bred. Well they are guarding the fry in the back corner of the tank and mixed in with their fry are a small group of Sunshine Peacock fry too. The helianthus are guarding them all just as their own....it's pretty cool if ya ask me. Just thought I'd share.

That is so cool....I used to have a pair of them.....lost them a while back after a water change.....wiped out everything under 2 inches....all the bigger fish survived whatever it was....???
Would be cool to see a short video if possible....
CFTruth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

I don't have any way to get video at this time. The ratio is actually half and half now that I have taken a closer look. The parents are keeping a close guard on all of the fry. There is a large number of other fish in the tank...not sure how long these little guys are going to last but definitely cool regardless.

Not sure if they are F1's, I know for sure that they aren't WC's. They came from screenname awhile back.
Anybody know how to tell the sex on these guys? I have 4 of them (all the same age) and the two that are the obvious parents are identical. Just wondering if I happen to have two pairs or what my ratio actually is. 1 of them is a little larger than the other 3, could this be my male?
What's crazy is that there is a group of 5 medium to large Multpunctatus in the tank and I thought for sure they would have wiped all the fry. Apparently these Helianthus are meaner than I thought they were....LOL!!
