Yes I know that breeding convicts isn't something to brag about, but we have had our first batch of fry in my aquatics class at MRHS here in Katy. I have to say a HUGE thank you to happytiffany for donating the tank and fish and rock and filter (basically everything)!! The kids absolutly LOVE checking on the fry and talking about them. I don't know that I will get anymore teaching done in here, but hey to get second semester seniors interested in anything after spring break is a feat. Hopefully we can get them all to grow out and start placing them in the kids tanks. Any advice is welcome, since I haven't raised fry since my guppies I would breed in jr. high. And one more time, THANK YOU happytiffany, you rock!!

Congrats! That's a great story.
Convict fry probably just need you to feed them. :) Are there any other fish in the tank besides the parents? If not, you should be good.
It's always awesome to get kids interested!! Yay for you!"Millennium hand and shrimp!"

There are some jewels in there as well, I was thinking about moving the fry to a 10g to prevent them from being a snack. The parents are being pretty good about keeping the jewels out of reach right now, I am just worried about them down the line. My question is should I move the parents with the fry to keep them together, or just move the fry over?
