  • Threadfin Rainbows

I picked up a pair of these thinking I need something new to try. I am hoping to breed these fish.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

Also, I currenty have two small corys in this tank. I am wondering whether or not I should leave them in there.

    Thanks.

I've never tried it, but I am working with some new Pseudomugil signifer. I'm just trying to fatten mine up a bit, and then maybe give it a go in a species tank, so I'm interested in hearing about these, too.

I would try a group with extra females and condition them all together, then separate a ready pair. They can spawn if there are only two fish, but this certainly increases your chances!
Tell your boss you need to go home to take care of your "cichlids." It sounds an awful lot like "sick kids." )

They seem to breed more readily in densely planted tanks. You'll probably have the best luck by using spawning mops.

Disclaimer: I have not bred threadfins personally, but have bred other small rainbows.

Any opinions on whether or not I need to take the corys out?

If you have somewhere else to put them, I'd take them out.
