  • What to breed in my 30 gallon

So I just picked up a 30 gallon with the sole purpose of trying to breed some fish. I hear Convicts are super interesting, so my initial goal was to breed a pair of convicts.

But am interested in what else I should look into. Only fish I've ever had fry from was jewel cichlids. Not looking to make money, just wanting to try it out.

Also, I need a filter suggestion. Thanks in advance.

Convicts are easy to breed but probably gonna be a pain in the arse come time to get rid of all the fry. I would look into something a bit less common to make it easier to part with later.

Or shellies (neolamprologus "multies" or "gold occies" or "pearly ocellatus"). Those are very fun to watch and not so hard to keep and very prolific! Also, there's a market for them. Otherwise maybe try apistos or kribs. Fun to watch them care for their young.

Yeah, yyou could establish a massive colony of shrimp. Do something radical like BKKs and RWs or something.

Make sure if you get demasoni, to get a large number. Small groups are very aggressive.
