Came home from work and noticed a large piece of african root covered with eggs... I don't save them anymore, not a big market for them, sometimes a couple make it with all the other fish in there.
I guess my pair of Red Devils are feeling at home after the move this month. I walked in my fish room yesterday to re-home a plant I won at the GHAC Raffle and to feed my fish when I noticed a cloud or swarm in the tank with my Red Devils. I usually notice when they lay eggs but I missed it this time. I've got hundreds of little fry about 2mm in size free swimming in the tank.
It looks so cool. I'm not going to put any effort to save any of them, but if anyone wants any of the little buggars give me a yell. No charge.
Think they will be old enough to move to the auction ?
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
They can exist with others if they are introduced young. Mine co-existed with alot of other fish of size and color. The alpha male just doesn't like other males of decent size and other fish with similar body color and of decent size.

I'm always in awe when I see it. They really are great fish, which is why I still have the pair. Not everyone wants to handle a fish that can get 12+ inches.
