    baby catchin ideas.

    ok. i have african cichlid fry.
    wanna catchem to keep em safe and maybe trade out or something.  not sure.  but i wanna get them outta my 110 for sure for now.  
    I though about net but it stress everyone way out
    Movin my decor is a pain and stress everyone out and makes tank mess and then the fry dont have a place to hid and could get gulped in a stressd situation
    i have a minnow trap that is like a plastic funnel thing that goes on the end of a big may jar or canning jar,  but they looked at it like,  ahha yea right buddy
    i evan put blood worms in there cause they love them but no go.  so im tapped out.  what can i do other than try and suck them up in my siphon which is risky cause i could hurtem or something.

    Someone suggested a while ago that you can goto Academy and pick up a fish trap and this will get your smallest friends outta there without to much of a hassle ?

      what kind of fry?what size?if its just a few,and depending where they sleep,turn the light on after its been off a couple of hours,then net them up.

        yeah i tried that too. they stay in my holey rock and dont really come out.  if they do its to nip some food and haul but back in the rocks.  lol.  the fish trap thing i have is like a funnel that u put on a jar.  what kind you talkin about from academy? is it diff??  this one i got from my dad like years ago.  dont know where he got it.  its bought.  but if i could get it to work  man it would be simple to make one.  just use a funnel on an old mayo jar or something but my african fry are too smart to go in.  now i had some adults that did there best to try and get in there.  big idiots.  but no fry would.

          With my Mollie fry I used a turkey baster to try and suck them up so i could try to save some in a breeder net... It was kinda hard to do and I really had to concentrate to keep my hand steady. I guess if your fry are small enough this could work.

          I am wanting to move my Kuhli loaches to another tank, but they are soooooo hard to catch... I don't really want to up-root any of my plants either, but that is where they hide. I have been toying with the idea of using a big siphon hose, but I'm not sure they will fall for it. I'm also wondering if I can get the suction strong enough to bring them through...
