  • what would you breed?

ok so i been getting in my head that i want to breed something, but since i will try to bred it better be something unusual. something that is not really locally breed.

i been thinking shell dwellers but there are several of you doing that. maybe some type of calvus.
    Throphs are breed everywhere
Petros sunny is taking care of that.
Angels troy is doing it and im trying.
shrimp and snails tim, txsun, and other do that too.

looking to do fish only right now. maybe later ill do shrimp. maybe since those shrimps would be about $80+ a head.

i dont want to breed something to be a competition with someone in the box.

Calvus arent an easy one to just get breeding! First they are EXTREMELY slow growing and if u think the turnaround on selling fry is going to be fast ...not so. Iv been raising up some frys and its been like a year now. They are egg layers and the female needs a really tight v shape cave to lay her eggs.

Im not trying to stear u away from breeding them , just going off of my personal experience with these fish. All i keep are tanganyika fish and i do breed all sorts of these and theres lots of tricks and nick nacks to help ya out. Other than Leleupi, theres not many rock dwelling tangs being breed that i knoe of. I plan on eventually getting and breeding more rock type fish in the near future.
              Neolamp Beuscheri

              Telmatochromis temporalis
And possibly nigriventris ( not a beginner fish )

I have some ndobhoi's I'm going to try and breed.

Crazy42's plan to create a Caudopunctatus breeding tank sounds like one of the coolest ideas I've heard in a long time.

I breed daffodil's for years and they were easy.

Are you trying to breed for income or breed just for yourself? If for income, you'll need to find something with demand. It doesn't do any good to breed something that nobody else is if no one wants to buy it (unless of course you're breeding for your own satisfaction).

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Tim: if i can find a colony i may jump on it. and make it a species only tank.

Mis: we are planning on both satisfation and income. for the income part mainly to support the hobby, not really to make it a living.

Craz: thanks for the tips. i would try to breed them mainly those for the satisfaction and enjoy the species. i found them to be really interesting.

Lmao of course not to make a living off of. The Cory sp. Black are amazing. Give aquabid a go. For a trio, I'd imagine it'll be about $100+ based on the one cory I found a while back going for $45.
