  • Fry tanks !

Ok so im breeding lots of tangs now and had to figure out something a way to raise the frys to sell/trade/credit them. So i moved the Leleupi tank upwards and gonna set up six ten gallons and raise some fry. I painted three sides blue and bought so small internal filters ill modify a bit for bio and mini micron.

Nice!!! The mods look good. You're gonna have a baby raising apartment soon enough! ... Oh wait, it's already crazy with all the fry!

How do u like those filters? I really like the fluval nano internal filters too (not the U series), and it's great for shrimp/fry.

Lol, as if i dont have enough tanks. Haven't really used the filter yet. But yes the fluval nano is awesome. Esp with a few mods. The tanks are gona be really basic , just to raise fry and sell. Probably stack a few rocks. Ill paint the bottoms black and no substrates for easy cleaning. So when u veiw them you'll look at them from the side length wise. With the longest sides painted and short side clear. Definitely a different way of doing it but itll work

So later today after work. Gona try n get the other three tanks painted up and do some playing with the filters to see what i can make up. Figure ill cut a small micron pad and add in some bio so itll be real similar to a micro in tank canister. Note these aren't really stong pumps on these so flow isn't huge but they are only ten gallons.

Got all of the bottoms painted last night. Not doing a substrate in these tank goin with a bare bottom so i can clean food/poop up much easier. Still need to play with the filters. Ill try n post some progress pics soon. But so far iv got fry for a few of these already. Brevis , Hecqui , and Ornatipinnis on the way as well. Leleupi and Multifasciatus will stay in the 14 biocube.

Awesome! Hey did you end up selling any of the leleupi fry to FG? They had a bunch so I was wondering if they came from you.

Update on this lil project, last night i finally got all tanks completely painted. BUT....while moving around and rotating tanks i did a dummy move and dropped the spray can right thru a tank. So now im down to 5. Lol

Still have played with the filters yet. But ill post some pics as to how ill set em up. Definitely going to add some bio media and cut some sponges. Iv got this thin micro fiber material that i like using which i use a lot of. So that'll help polish. Got set back a lil with the vacation and regular fish maintenance.

NOTE TO SELF: keep spray cans away.
