Ok well forgot to post yesterday but Friday I put a breeder box in there and when I did I noticed a few eggs had turned white. Saurday about 3/4 of em had turned white, and this morning there all white. Dosent this mean there not fertile? What about next time, is this because it was the first time, or is there something I should've done different.

its nothing you did. the dividers will work better than mesh, but their own tank is best with the slate setup. could even use the divider in their own smaller tank with the airstone to fan the eggs once they lay them in a pinch. like other mentioned the anti-fungal treatments too. if you said the 55g tank is crowded already, putting a divider in and further squishing the remaining fish together is your call. like troy said, give it a few weeks and they probably will again. new pair could take a few tries.
