    So I decided to strip a yellow lab the other day, and look what I found...

      They usually take over the spawn of other cichlids by laying their eggs with the cichlids. Catfish will incubate faster than slowly eating away at the other cichlid fry.

            Congratulations! I have a group of 10 WC Syno. Multi. and I am still waiting for the day I find a female holding some catfish fry.

              Awesome! When I had my African set up I managed to collect quite a few Syno. Multi. fry from Hap. flamebacks that were always spawning.

              I hope you find more!

                Very nice. I always had better luck getting cat fry from my cichlids rather than my actual cats

                  Yes, they are parasitic breeders (there is a better term, but I can't think of it). The catfish only spawn letting the cichlids host the eggs (at least that is what I thought). The Syno Petricolas are egg scatterers and they look very similar to the multis.
