im not thinking of doing this so dont bash me on cross breeding, but me and a buddy were talking . would a pearl scale cichlid and a red terror cichlid be able to breed? we are just curious. what are yalls experiences with an accidental thing like this happening? thanks

i have only had cross breeding in things like platys, moons, mollies, etc. types of shrimp will too.
i personally have not had it in cichlids, but not to say it cant happen. breeds like blood parrot fish are cross bred initially (red devil and severum i think). they have genetic abnormalities though and males are usually unable to breed.
cichlids tend to stick to their own species, especially if they are species which pair off and are older when you introduce them to eachother. to get breeding pairs you normally need to raise them together in my experience.
