  • It's Spring!

I am very excited about all the spawning activity taking place. My Albino Blue Topaz guppies dropped some more young in the breeder box so I was able to get them before they all got eaten. And my mystery snails have really been going to town on laying the eggs. Since we had such cold weather I had the heater on in the fish room and those snails really like it when the temps are near 80! Fortunately the marble cloning crayfish really like those baby snails so I wont be completely over run with them. And those girls keep pumping out babies which my Swordtails really enjoy. Those Swordtail girls are some of the biggest swords I've ever seen! To bad they aren't really nice about letting me get some of their babies. However, some other swordtail girls I recently bought did drop fry in the net and I've got a bunch now swimming around. Those girls are a sort of Koi but with a line of back. Some of their fry are albino. They are real pretty. I should have some for sale at the next HAS auction. And finally, I set 2 of my Cory species up to breed - Golden Long Fin Aneas and Long Fin Plateaus both spawned this morning and I look forward to babies hatching next week. When I was removing the Golden long fins from their main tank, I found that their last spawn in there was not all eaten as I thought as I saw quite a few week or so old babies in the mulm. I should have some of these ready for the next auction as well.

Unfortunatly, it appears I've not taken pictures of the catfish. Something I will have to do in the near future!
