Ok... i checked.. my vinegar eel culture is still alive... albeit... smells a little funky from being neglected, but its full of eels.

Oh, I just checked my big tank this morning - he is at it again!  Huge bubble nest under an amazon sword leaf.

        How often do they breed?!

They are like bettas, they can breed again in 4+ days if they are in really good condition but the second spawn will have less eggs.

Sorry I haven't been online.... been fighting some nasty viruses.   But if you still need vinegar eels or micro-worms,  I have them.

By the time I can see them without my glasses, they are big enough to eat bbs.

He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

*sigh* unfortunately, I had a total loss of all of these, not sure why - one day they were eating vinegar eels, the next, gone...

                Re: Hatching baby dwarf gourami

Loss could be due to several things
something eating them - hydra, other fish
Amonia - over feedng fry is common and dead food rots.
pheneumonia - baby anabantids begin to develop their labaranth and a they need a covered tank with warm moist air.

Also a chance that they became free swimming and scattered.   It's hard to find those tiney fry hiding in the corners and under the plants.
On more than one occasion I have gone to dump a month old fry tank and found a half dozen survivors.
