Maybe put the wood on the left side of the tank so it helps hide the heater and stuff...And then maybe another small/medium sized piece or two of driftwood on the right side of the tank resting on the bottom.
Looks better with the background for sure.15g column BB low-tech driftwood/planted - Dwarf Puffer Tank :lupe:

i got a dumb question , those look like archer fish which are brackish ?
what plants are you growing?
dumb comment : i dont think plants do well in brackish water
has anyone done this before?
in my tanks i use a black background , lay the heater down and tuck it behind the plants in the rear. i try to manage the cords where they are all together, and i have actually spray painted some pvc black. run all my cords thru them after i drilled a few small holes in the rear for suction cups. and then they almost dissapear , AS far as the spray paint
Dont do this because i have, it your own choice. but i have been doing it for years and have never had an issue.
also i wait a few weeks ( after playing with the heater ) and once i think its somewhat stable. ( i remove all the thermometers and ugly stuff)
when you need to know your temps, just put the therm in the water.
they always look more pleasant when theres no signs of magnets, heaters, wires and stuff.
i like the drift wood. but there is definately a need for something toward the left side.

so far..i took out the moss laying on the ground, (christmas+java moss). i left some left on the branches but i cleared out the middle part, made it look cleaner. i am thinkin bout doing another stack of sticks on the left side and use slates or somethin that goes up to my filter so i wont need the plastic ramp for the filter lol. water fall styleeeeeee!! im just not sure what that "something" is, too much slates would be too much heavy and might stress the tank. i was also thinkin of putting a plastic cup full of gravel with holes in it so there can beneficial bacteria growing inside it and then put slates under and build around that so the plastic container would be on the inside. still not sure what to do. so far so good, some more planning is in order. lol and yes that is an archer that is brackish, this IS the.."General Brackish Discussion" after all

You can goto City Pets they have the extension tubes for the aquaclear 20's there in stock.. All you get is just another tube like the one you have and you add the second one to the end of it. This extents it. If you got the Aquaclear 20 new it should have come with two of them in the packaging. Just add the second one to the end of the first one.
