Id give my left leg for another axolotl....I had a albino one when I was like 11...he lived forever in our feeder tank and actually turned more golden than the pinky albino color......i miss him he was the most awesome water pet Ive ever had LOL!!)

Id love to know if places still sell those...might be a way of convincing the spouse to get another tank xP

Last time I saw one was a few years ago at Fish Ranch 2. They were over $60.00!
I had 2 albino ones in the early 90's that I got from a place called Anything Fishy (gone). They were a mere $5.00 then. Unfortunately they perished after consuming the gravel in their tank. So if you ever get any, I would recommend a bare bottom tank.

lol yea I think mine was 15$ back then. No way Id pay over $20 for one, thats highway robbery. But mine was also in a barebottom tank LOL I think he died from some weird fungus or somthing i realyl dont remember, i just rememebr his tail rotting off....even though he was in a crystal clean tank 0_o He lived a long time though, I was shocked ;3)

They are now endangered in native land of Mexico, due to pollution, which I'm sure is related to their current hefty price tag.
Want to start an axolotl thread on my amphibian and reptile section since we are off topic now?

I know this is really late but a place on NASA1 has 2. I'm sure they'd part with one of them. Unfortunately, they've already named one: Google. Lol. I'm sure you could call and ask them to order some for you.
College = fishless for now. Vicarious living!

I found a waterdog about 10 years ago at a petsmart near meadows place...since then i have yet to see another good luck though, sad as it makes me to say the mega chains sometimes have very obscure and interesting stock
