For a little interest to my high brackish (1.018) aquarium that has two silver monos, two African monos, and a Yucatan molly, I decided to add a thinstripe hermit crab I caught down in West Bay in Galveston. He has a really attractive unblemished lighting welk shell, and I'm looking forward to providing him attractive conch shells as he grows. So far he seems to be doing quite well, grazes algae off the holey rock, and detritus, including algae mats, from the aragonite substrate. He's very active, moves around the aquarium constantly, and is quite a climber, I've had to move plants and wood away from the filter pipes so he can't transfer up to those and escape.
