  • Upkeep with fry

Hi, I had a quick question. I have daffodil ciclids and the fry are doing well. However my faux plants and tank ornaments look really gross. I've discovered that my fish aren't fond of drastic enviorment change and they gets seriously stressed by moving stuff. The water paramaters are good. However, just getting some alge growth. Should I risk taking those ornaments out for a thorough cleaning or leave them be until the fry are a little more mature. Thanks for any tips and advice.

I would take the faux plants out and throw them away. maybe you are done with plastic plants. Do a w/c and don't move the rocks. Then let them settle back in. In 3 days run your fingers through the sand and do another w/c. then test your nitrAtes. If they are high do another w/c the next night.

Hi there... A possible solution is have to algae eaters to clean your plastic plants. Also, if the algae grows back very fast, you may have to perform more water changes or cut back on the light.

I dun suppose taking the stuff out to clean would be all that very stressful to the fish. Maybe you can take out different sections over several days till all is clean?
