  • Question about feeding Severums and Flowerhorns

I read today that Severums like a little bit of lettuce in their diet so i went out and bought some Romaine lettuce. Not sure if thats the right kind.
Then i also read that Flowerhorns like spinach so i got some fresh spinach as well.

i was wondering, do i need to tear the vegetables up into little pieces or do i just put whole leaves in the tank?
How long do the fish catch on and realize its food?
How often should i feed them fresh veggies?
Are there any other veggies that south americans or africans enjoy?
    If it ain't wild caught
    You ain't doing it right

I never kept flowerhorns, so not sure about those. I kept sevs back when I had a 125 set up as a SA/CA tank and fed them several different greens; romaine, leaf lettuce, spinach, collard greens, mustard greens and most of the plants in the tank before I figured out the sevs, uarus and festivums were eating them and moved the remains to another tank. The lettuce I gave them fresh, the greens I blanched in the microwave. They ate them right away, but if it takes a couple feedings for yours to figure out it's food, just remove after an hour or so and try again next feeding...they'll figure it out. I used a plastic feeding clip with the sucker attachment to hold the veggies for them. Don't be afraid to experiment...some of my fish love blanched carrots, fresh cukes and zucchini too. I feed fresh veggies two or three times a week.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
