  • Where should I stop by?

I'm planning to come to Houston next weekend. Any suggestions of stores that I should check out. Last time I came to H-town, I only got a chance to go to Village Tropical (and that was a while ago.) The only destination we have to hit is Baybrook mall.

I'm looking for plants and Botia sidthimunki.

    Thanks in advance!

      Thanks EK for the info.

Are those in the order you would suggest regarding priority?

I suggest Houston Aquarium Warehouse. From Baybrook Mall just go North on 45 to The Beltway and take the Beltway West. Exit Airport and go down to Murphy and take a left. the store will then be on your left in a series of Warehouses

Well actually... if you are coming in on 290....

          Fish Gallery
          Fish Ranch II
          City Pets
          Extreme
          Houston Aquarium Warehouse

This would start you at 59 downtown and work back out to Missouri City.

If it was set by priority...

Well, I can't speak for priority, but if you are coming in from Austin and heading to Baybrook mall, you might check out the LFS map http://houstonfishbox.com/viewarticle.php?articleid=4 and see how you can hit them all. They are pretty much all in the same general area of SW Houston (and all worth checking out while you're here).

Thanks, Imagirlgeek, I actually looked there first then figured out I did not have that much time, especially with my wife and son with me.

If you take 290 to and from then a nice place might be Aquarium World on 290 & Hollister (near beltway 8).

I'll be coming in on 71 to I10, and it looks like I should try to take 290 going back.

If you are going to be over in the Baybrook Area, a quick stop by Aqua Zoo would be worth it. They are currently moving so some good deals may be had. I'd also check out the others mentioned as well.

                        store

I don't know if Aqua Zoo had moved and how big the new store is but the old store on Hwy 3 is a 1 room store with < 1,000 sq st.

Aquarium World has 12,000+ sq ft and a display tank of 40,000 gal salt water.
Fish Gallery on Hwy 59 near Kirby is another huge store with some impressive tanks.
